Our Client’s Challenge:
Our client is a Canadian foods company which also operates in India to sell its frozen foods products is looking to significantly increase its presence and investment in India by having it a large 400-member technology GCC to be based in Gurgaon. The GCC team is the brainchild of the company’s new global CTO as the company is looking to enhance the offerings of its products and brands through its ecommerce channel. In the process, global supply chain, inventory management and customer analytics platforms need to be built, which necessitated the need for a large number of technology leaders, high-quality engineers and data scientists sitting in Gurgaon in a newly built GCC.
How PSS Helped:
PSS was one of several partners evaluated by the client to hire its GCC team in India. We were selected based on our recent track-record on other similar and successful projects. Over the first 6 months, we built a project management team and a team of 5 technology recruiters to initiate the talent scouting process across product, platform, infrastructure & operations, cybersecurity, architecture, analytics, digital manufacturing and data governance functions.
PSS was also involved in a compensation benchmarking exercise for all mid and senior level technology jobs in these functions. The exercise encompassed collecting compensation data and running a talent needs survey of candidates in all tier 1 and tier 2 cities across India. This data enabled the client to make more informed hiring decisions around the skillsets available and the cost of talent across functions. It gave them the surety and confidence that they were hiring top talent without having to overpay beyond what the market standards were.
Impact Created through Our Engagement:
This is an ongoing project that is yet to see the client realize the full benefit of the setup of its India GCC. The long-term benefits of this GCC are expected to include the scaling up of development of the client’s global e-commerce platform and the enterprise application systems that will enable this ecommerce delivery model at a global scale.
