The role of A.I. in optimizing recruiting in 2024

With more jobs available than there are workers, those who fail to change their recruiting strategy will see their workforce — and success — atrophy. In order to gain a competitive advantage, more and more companies than ever before will look to AI recruitment technologies. Here are a few ways AI will help companies address key recruiting challenges in 2023:

  1. Revealing blind spots: Not all talent can be found in the same places, and many recruiters look for candidates with too narrow of a perspective on the talent pool that is available. Talent acquisition professionals frequently miss out on access to a significant portion of qualified talent due to the availability of a small number of dissimilar job boards with limited search functionality or candidate profile visibility. The talent pool will be expanded by AI recruiting tools. Hiring teams can access a much larger portion of the total talent population and conduct searches from a single source by pulling candidate profile information from various talent pools (Monster, Naukri, LinkedIn, Google etc.). Some platforms are getting close to offering access to nearly one billion candidates. Businesses that must scale their growth will have more options and hiring opportunities. AI recruitment tools will also help recruiters mitigate unconscious bias from the recruitment process to make more equitable hiring decisions. This works by AI automatically matching candidates with the relevant skills rather than focusing no attributes such as race, gender, cultural background etc.
  2. Establishing a foundation for growth: The first time many candidates interact with an organization is when they make contact with a recruiter. That initial impression has the potential to pique the candidate’s interest by providing them with useful and pertinent experience. Additionally, it might cause the brand to appear less credible to potential employees and their peers. With the help of AI, organizations will set up hiring teams to showcase their brand to candidates in the best light and build a workforce that better supports company objectives in the long run.
  3. Meeting the need for speed: To reach goals for scale, hiring teams need to shorten the time it takes to bring the right jobs to the right people. With AI, organizations will begin to automate more of the transactional and respective aspects of the hiring process. This will give recruiters more time to focus on building relationships by engaging prospective talent in meaningful ways. Without the right technology, recruiters will spend less time adding value to the process. Automation will free up the time it takes for recruiters to facilitate communication by removing manual tasks like scheduling, managing candidate pipeline data, etc. so they can spend more time consulting with talent to place them in roles that best fit their interests, ambitions, and experience.
  4. Conclusion: By engaging talent with a more inclusive approach, increasing the speed and ease of the hiring process, and broadening the scope of talent they see and consider, only organizations leaning on AI will overcome today’s hiring challenges to build workforces that grow.
